The way to greet a Muslim is to say:
Asalaamu alykum: Peace be upon you
Asalaamu alykum wa rahmatu’Allaah: Peace and Mercy of Allaah be upon you
Asalaamu alykum wa rahmatu’Allaahe wa barakaatu: Peace, Mercy and blessings of Allaah be upon you.
‘Salaam’ means peace. So when you greet someone with the statement of ‘peace’ you’re just saying ‘peace.’
